The Hill Of Life

Recently I was told about a conversation between a father and his daughter. They were talking about her new boyfriend. The father asked if the boyfriend would be able to climb the hill. His daughter asked, "What hill?" He said, "The hill of life. He's got to be able to climb it because it's uphill all the way." When we look back on our lives, we can see that the father's last statement is true. There are times when we struggle more than others. There are times when we reach a peak and can catch our breath. But we are all climbing in the same direction - uphill.

You have said this beautifully...
Oh--I'm so glad Carol has been here to read this; I was going to forward it to her if not!
This has blessed me so much, Allison, and convicted me; it is so true. Not only do I know that it has cost others for me to climb to where I am in Christ, I know that I must watch the rope for others. Some people are easier to watch the rope for than others, and I need a constant reminder that as I have not been "easy" for Jesus, I must be like Him and love the unloveable. It's easy to support our friends, but to protect those that would leave us hanging, well, this is too long, isn't it? : )
